Tart is a 2001 American coming-of-age drama from Green Moon Productions. In the film, Cat Storm (Dominique Swain) is an unpopular teenage girl at an all-girls prep school in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York. When her only friend, and the lifeline to which she clings at the cliquish academy, Delilah (Bijou Phillips), dies, Cat does not know how she will go on. Until she meets Grace Bailey (Mischa Barton), who becomes her new best friend. Then, when she stumbles into a relationship with wildly popular bad boy William (Brad Renfro), Cat flies to the top of the social ladder. But after only a short time as a member of the in-crowd, Cat realizes that popularity is not all that it is cracked up to be. Her new friends are unreliable, her boyfriend is more deeply troubled than she realized, and her parents seem indifferent to what goes on in her life. Full of drama, dark romance, and the troubles of adolescence, Tart is rated R for teen drug use, language, sexual content, and violence.moreless
