Movie Summary

Director:
Carl Schenkel
Released:
1998
Rating:
PG
Tarzan and the Lost City, directed by Carl Schenkel, is a vine-swinging, jungle adventure based on the beloved stories of Edgar Rice Burroughs. Tarzan (Casper Van Dien) is now known as John Clayton and lives the life of a distinguished gentlemen in London, a far-cry from his primeval homeland. His jungle roots prove difficult to shake when, on the eve of his wedding to the beautiful Jane Porter (Jane March), the witch doctor Mugambe (Winston Ntshona) sends him a vision. The intrepid explorer Nigel Ravens (Steven Waddington) is in search of the fabled city of Opar, found in the heart of Tarzan's home. Ravens plans to plunder the city's treasure and destroy the surrounding jungle and its inhabitants, the same creatures that raised Tarzan as one of their own. The Lord of the Apes quickly abandons his civilized trappings and returns to the land of his childhood. Jane is not so quick to let her beau escape and chases after him, complicating Tarzan's quest to stop Ravens by getting herself into harm's way.moreless
