Teaching Mrs. Tingle is a 1999 comedic thriller directed by Kevin Williamson. The film follows the honor student and salutatorian Leigh Ann Watson (played by Katie Holmes). However to get a scholarship to go to Harvard she has to be the valedictorian. The one class she is doing poorly in is her history class which is taught by Mrs. Tingle (played by Helen Mirren). Mrs. Tingle hates Leigh Ann and downgrades Leigh Ann's work. One day Mrs. Tingle finds Leigh Ann with her final exam (which had been stolen and planted in her backpack). She threatens to expell Leigh Ann for this. Leigh Ann decides to go to Mrs. Tingle's house, along with her friends Jo Lynn and Luke, to tell her that Leigh Ann is innocent. Mrs. Tingle won't listen so they grab her and she gets accidentally knocked unconscious. The friends then tie her up...and more and more drama ensues.
