Movie Summary

Victoria Muspratt
Released:
1999
Rating:
PG
Teen Sorcery is about a girl, Dawn (A.J. Cook), who moves with her parents from California to Massachusetts. Dawn decides to take pictures of her new town, and comes to a soccer game where the head cheerleader Mercedes (Lexa Doig) sees Dawn and decides to put her in her place. Mercedes has half of the Devilstone amulet, which gives her magic powers she uses to bully Dawn. Dawn finds the other half, and uses her magical powers to stop Mercedes from teasing the students. When Mercedes hides Dawn and casts a sleeping spell on her, Dawn's friends Fran (Aimee Castle), Flo (Nadia Litz), and Mary (Ioana Cristescu) must travel to a parallel dimension to find and rescue Dawn. This high school movie incorporates slapstick comedy of Dawn and Mercedes exchanging magical spells and the drama of trying to find Dawn and wake her up, making this a uniquely enjoyable film
