Todd Howard (Jason Bateman) is the cousin of the teenage werewolf played by Micheal J. Wolf in the original. Todd shares is cousin's unusual genetic traits and is also a werewolf. Todd is in college and on the school's boxing team. He was recruited and given a full scholarship because of his family's history, werewolves have their advantages playing sports. However, thus far Todd has not manifested as a werewolf, sometimes it skips a generation. With the team's season in the tank, and his college career on the line, Todd worries that he is the family exception. When Todd finally becomes a werewolf, the effects are shocking. He is not prepared for the publicity of his newly found athleticism and fame. He then must relearn humility and how to live as a werewolf.
