Tell Them Willie Boy Is Here follows Native American in California during the early 1900's. After living away for a while, he returns to his tribe's reservation with the hopes of wooing the woman he loves, Lola (Katherine Ross). Things turn ugly when Willie (Robert Blake) accidentally kills Lola's father while trying to defend himself. In the aftermath he is forced to flee the reservation. The town sheriff (Robert Redford) recruits a group of vigilantes and begins a ruthless campaign to track him down and bring him to justice. The movie is based on the true story of one of the last western man hunts of the early twentieth century. Things go from bad to worse as Willie tries to kill a horse of one of the sheriff's men, accidentally killing the man instead.
