Movie Summary

Director:
Liam Lynch
Released:
2006
Rating:
R

The film is the origin story of the band, Tenacious D, formerly an HBO series. Jack Black leaves his family at a young age to become a rock star in Hollywood. Once there, he meets up with a legendary guitar player named Kyle Gass and together they form Tenacious D. Jack Black finds out that every legendary musical act in history used the same guitar pick and travels to a guitar store to find out more. A guitar expert tells Tenacious D about the pick of destiny which is actually Satan's tooth and gives the possessor the power to rock hard. The duo go on an adventure to find the pick and end up becoming wonderful friends in the process. Although not a commercial success, the film has picked up a cult following for its brand of unique humor.

Not only screams out to be a midnight movie, but one in need of, shall we say, an herbal supplement, and we aren't talking ginkgo biloba.
