Terribly Happy is the story of Robert Hansen (Jakob Cedergren), a Copenhagen cop who made a mistake. As punishment, the department sends him to therapy and then assigns him to a small town called Skarrild. He spends his time in the isolated area recovering from his past in order to one day return to his former life. While living in the town, Robert realizes that the small town is not so quiet as people disappear in a nearby bog. Robert decides to investigate these mysteries only to realize the community is covering up these injustices, and Robert finds himself protecting a local girl named Ingerlise (Lene Maria Christensen) from her abusive husband. Violence ensues between the two men in this shocking thriller set in Denmark. Who ultimately survives the fighting to win the girl? Director Henrik Ruben Genz delivers an intense mystery culminating with an ending leaving the viewer absolutely stunned.
