2001
Rating:
PG-13

Texas Rangers is Western based on the true story of America's first law enforcement agency. After the Civil War, the Texas frontier is a chaotic and lawless place. Mexican bandits are carrying out border raids, and Native Americans are fighting settlers for their traditional lands. Adding to the trouble, crime lord John King Fisher (Alfred Molina) and his outlaw gang are terrorizing the population. Local sheriffs are unable to keep the peace, so a group of youngsters join together to form the Texas Rangers. Leander McNelly (Dylan McDermott) leads a motley crew. The Rangers include experienced gunmen Frank Bones (Randy Travis) and Sergeant John Armstrong (Robert Patrick). However, McNelly must also work with enthusiastic, but inexperienced, recruits George Durham (Ashton Kutcher), Lincoln Rogers Dunnison (James Van Der Beek) and Randolph Douglas Scipio (Usher Raymond) as he tries to bring justice to the West. A love triangle between Caroline Dukes (Rachael Leigh Cook) and two of the Rangers only makes McNelly's task that much harder.
