That Sinking Feeling is a 1980 comedy written and directed by first time director Bill Forsyth. Set in Glasgow, Scotland, the film follows a group of young, down on their luck teenagers looking to turn their lives around. Ronnie (Robert Buchanan) notices that stainless steel sinks sold by a local plumber are worth a lot of money. Along with friends Wal (Billy Greenless), Andy (John Gordon Sinclair) and Vic (John Hughes), Ronnie develops their comical plan to steal the sinks. Dressing up as girls and using a chemical "stop motion potion", the group successfully pulls off the heist. They are met, however, with repeated stumbling blocks as they attempt to offload their catch. All react to the unsuccessful pawning and the viewer is treated to the folly of how their reactions affect the group. The beauty and sometimes harsh reality of Glasgow in the early 1980s is put on display in this caper comedy offering from novice director Forsyth.
