The 5th Dimension Travelling Sunshine Show is a 1971 musical reality show hosted by the wildly successful pop group The 5th Dimension. The group, which was formed in the mid 1960s, showcases a musical medley of funk, soul, gospel, and jazz. Featuring the vocal talents of Marilyn McCoo, Billy Davis Jr, Ron Townsend, Lamonte McLemore, and Florence LaRue, the group performs many of their chart toppers including "Aquarius/Let The Sunshine In," "Up, Up and Away," "Wedding Bell Blues," "One Less Bell To Answer," and "Reach Out and Touch." Featured guests include The Carpenters, Dionne Warwick, and Merle Haggard. Some of the better performances include McCoo, LaRue, and Warwick's rendition of Tom Jones' hit "She's a Lady." The 5th Dimension also boogie down to The Carpenters performance of "Someone Like You." With a mixture of fashion, dancing and unique sound, The 5th Dimension does a brilliant job of capturing the essence of that era.
