The Adventures of Bullwhip Griffin is directed by James Neilson and produced by Disney. Released in 1967, the film is set more than 100 years earlier, during the mid-1800's and the California Gold Rush. A young boy, Jack Flagg (Bryan Russell), stows away on a ship bound for California. His grandfather has left him and his sister, Arabella (Suzanne Pleshette), penniless, and Jack's aim is restore his family's wealth. The boy's butler, Bullwhip Griffin (Roddy McDowall), finds out about the plan and follows Jack. They end up on the same ship, as stowaways, but Bullwhip talks his way into becoming the cook, and earns them both passage to California. Once in California, Bullwhip and Jack encounter numerous characters, all with the same idea of finding a fortune of gold. Can a young boy and his butler find huge score of gold before all of these grizzled prospectors in the California hills?
