The Age of Stupid is a documentary that poses a serious question with relation to the future of the planet. Set in the future, viewers are taken on a journey back into the past to examine the ramifications of excess greenhouse gases and other unhealthy habits that become the norm in corporations and governments around the world. Pete Postlethwaite plays the Archivist who spends much of the film analyzing footage from today's society. The film aims to show that although the Earth has gone through periods of harsh climate change, the effects of a post-industrial society have strengthened this feedback loop. What will be said when future generations inhabit a planet that is unfit for life? What type of message will be left for the descendants of the human population; sorry about the rampant pollution and rising global average temperature, it was good for the economy? The overarching message is that it is not too late to make a change for the better.moreless
