The Americano is a true blue western film set in both Texas and Latin America. This movie follows main character Sam Dent (Glenn Ford) as he has to travel abroad for a possibly dangerous job. Sam is a Texas cowboy and is given the job of delivering three bulls to the south of the border country of Brazil. Once he arrives in Brazil, he finds the bustling country entrenched in a range war between poor farmers and deceitful land-grabber Bento Hermany (Frank Lovejoy). Sam tries his hardest to deal with Bento and save the poor farmers from losing all of their land and livelihood. Whilst fighting with Bento, Sam still finds the time to have love affairs with two separate beautiful women. He takes many adventures with both of these women and brings a romantic side to the movie that allows the drama filled movie to have a lighter tone.
