The Animal Kingdom is a 1932 romantic comedy movie by directors Edward H. Griffith and George Cukor, starring Ann Harding, Leslie Howard, Myrna Loy, William Gargan, and Neil Hamilton, based on the Broadway play of the same name by Philip Barry. In the movie, Tom Collier (Leslie Howard) is a wealthy publisher who leaves his lovely mistress, Daisy Sage (Ann Harding) in order to marry the affluent and socially prominent Cecelia Henry (Myrna Loy). After all, mistresses are not meant to be married, right? That is what Tom thinks-or rather what he thinks until Cecelia turns out to be the callous libertine he had expected his former mistress, Daisy, to be. Instead, Daisy is the true picture of love and loyalty. Now Tom has to seriously rethink his decisions and question his attitudes towards life and partnerships. The Animal Kingdom is 85 minutes of romantic comedy fun from back in the day.
