The Apple is an out of control camp musical about a singing duo that gets more than they bargained for when they enter a music competition. It is the distant future of 1994, and Alphie (George Gilmour) and Bibi (Catherine Mary Stewart) are just about as wholesome as you get, a dynamic singing duo from Moose Jaw, Canada. The two have made the trek with stars in their eyes to America to compete in the Worldvision Song Festival, hoping to see their way to fame and fortune. While the kids knock the socks off the crowd, they lose out to the festivals darlins, a group that just happens to have the backing of BIM: Boogalow International Music, led by the infamous Mr. Boogalow. (Vladek Sheybal). Boogalow, however, does offer the pair a chance at stardom, but when they are introduced to the non-stop life at the top, Alphie simply can't go on with it, so Bibi breaks off to launch her career, leaving her forlorn and depressed better half behind. Menahem Golan directs this drug inspired cult classic, a must see for fans of the most campy films around.moreless
