Released:
2006
Rating:
R

The Architect is the story of Leo Waters (Anthony LaPaglia) and the problems he is confronted with in both his personal, and professional life. Leo is, of course, an architect and has built his career on designing high-rise public housing. Tonya Neely (Viola Davis) is a community activist who is leading the charge to have one of Waters' buildings torn down. Neely seeks out Leo to have him sign a petition to have the building he created torn down. The symbolism is apparent as Leo's personal life is also falling apart. His wife, Julia (Isabella Rossellini), is unhappy and wants a divorce, his son dropped out of college and is wandering aimlessly through life, and his teenage daughter is starting to rebel and experiment in the ways of the world. Leo seeks his redemption through connecting with the residents of the substandard building he created, but also with the goal of pursuing a stronger connection with his disconnected family.
