The Atomic Submarine is a 1959 Sci-Fi thriller directed by Spencer Gordon Bennet and written by Orville H. Hampton, Irving Block and Jack Rabin. When military and civilian vessels alike start mysteriously vanishing around the Artic Circle, an American military submarine, the Tiger Shark, is sent with a full crew to find the answers. The crew quickly discover that, much like the internal nuclear powered engine of the Tiger Shark, the extremities of the Artic Circle are sometimes disguised as common occurences. Be it in calm waters or tidal waves, the crew find themselves fearlessly fighting tentacle monsters, dealing with unforecasted electrical storms, and reporting regular UFO sightings. Something is not right in these waters, and the crew can feel it. However, how can one hope to stop phenomena that they themselves cannot understand? It will take a supreme mustering of courage and wit to get these able crewmen home from the ancient and mysterious Artic.
