The Bachelor and the Bobby Soxer is a 1947 romantic comedy directed by Irving Reis. In the film, 17-year-old Susan Turner (Shirley Temple) has a huge crush on the artist, Richard Nugent (Cary Grant), who did a presentation at her high school. Richard Nugent is a successful, playboy artist living in the city. In an attempt to impress Mr. Nugent, Susan sneaks in to his apartment, hoping to model for him. She is discovered there by her sister, Judge Margaret Turner (Myrna Loy) who is deeply disappointed in her. The sister's uncle, Dr. Matt Beemish (Ray Collins) is bothered by his niece's unhealthy infatuation and goes to speak with the artist. After much persuasion, Mr. Nugent agrees to go along with the teenagers delusion, in hopes that she will grow tired of him. Richard tries to shake Susan but the task is more difficult than he anticipated. Will Richard break Susan's heart, or will she lose interest in him on her own?moreless
