The Back-Up Plan is a 2010 romantic comedy about a woman fed up with finding the man of her dreams and resorts to artificial insemination to have a child. The film, directed by Alan Poul, follows the story of forlorn and fed-up Zoe (Jennifer Lopez) on her solo journey to becoming a mother. Finally mustering up the courage to go to the doctor for insemination she coincidentally runs into Stan (Alex O'Loughlin) after they both fight over a cab. They both miss the cab as a result and are forced to talk to one another on the street as they walk. They finally part separate ways and Zoe gets inseminated. Some time later, when Zoe is now pregnant, she randomly stumbles upon Stan again at a farmer's market. The spark up a conversation and wind up falling for one another. After a series of misfortunate events and ups and downs in their now budding relationship, they wind up deciding to be together, despite the fact that Zoe is having a strnager's children. They decide to get married and at the altar Zoe's water breaks. They go to the doctor and she has had twins! The film also stars Danneel Harris, Melissa McCarthy, Michaela Watkins, Eric Christian Olsen, Anthony Anderson, Linda Lavin, and Tom Bosley.moreless
