The Bank Job is a film loosely based on a real life crime called the Baker Street robbery that occurred in 1971. Terry Leather (Jason Statham) is a former criminal who is urged to return to crime by his girlfriend, Martine Love (Saffron Burrows). Maritine wants Terry to gather his old gang of thieves and misfits for a heist at a bank on Baker Street. At the robbery, Martine finds safety deposit boxes filled with documents and photos of prominent people which she takes while the gang bags up the money. Terry takes notes of the boxes and is curious if Martine had a different motive for the bank robbery. What happens next is a mystery full of political intrigue that involves the royal family and wealthy mobsters who want the contents of Martine's safety deposit boxes. Cover ups and twists abound this crime film that is based on a real crime in London that was never solved.
