The Beastmaster is a 1982 fantasy action adventure directed by Don Coscarellli. The film tells the story of Dar (Marc Singer) who is stolen from his mother's womb at the direction of high-priest sorcerer Max (Rip Torn) and implanted as a fetus into a cow. At birth, Dar is saved by a poor villager (Ben Hammer) who raises him as his own son. Soon, the villagers come to realize that Dar has the unique ability to communicate with animals telepathically. When the village is attacked by invading Juns and all his neighbors are killed, Dar vows revenge. To aid him in his task, Dar befriends ferrets Podo and Kodo, Ruh, the black tiger and Sharak, the falcon. On his way to exact revenge on the Juns, Dar falls in love with a beautiful slave girl, Kiri (Tanya Roberts), and finds a long lost brother Tal (Josh Milrad). As he faces of in his final battle against the Juns, Dar discovers his true identity.
