The Black Room is a classic mystery film about two twin brothers, Anton and Gregor Bergmann, caught in a deadly game of deception in their grand castle. An old prophecy says that Anton will one day kill his conniving twin Gregor in the black room of the castle. The black room is a dank dungeon located beneath the castle's stone floor, a dark chamber used for imprisonment and torture. Gregor is a powerful baron. Many of his subjects hate him for the cruelties he's committed and the unfair decisions he regularly makes. Anton is well respected among the subjects, known for his honesty and bravery. His noble attributes have won Anton the admiration of many powerful leaders in the land, except for his brother Gregor. Gregor sees Anton as a potential threat and fears the old prophecy. When Gregor decides to take his fate into his own hands, he triggers a sequence of murders and back-room deals that could lead to his unopposed rule-or his death. Boris Karloff stars in The Black Room, playing both Anton and Gregor Bergmann as the brothers fight for power.moreless
