The Blind Side is the movie adaptation of the book The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game by Michael Lewis, based on the life of Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron), as he goes through life in foster care, eventually becoming part of Leigh Anne Tuohy (Sandra Bullock) and Sean Tuohy's (Tim McGraw) family. He befriends their son Sean "SJ" Jr. (Jae Head), who gets him enrolled in the football team, where the enormous "Big Mike" excels, catching the eye of college scouts from around the state. When they discover that he must get a 2.5 GPA to receive a NCAA Division I Scholarship, they hire Miss Sue (Kathy Bates) to tutor him, and the teachers also start taking a special interest in boosting his grades. When Michael opts for Mississippi State instead of his home state of Tennessee, the NCAA comes after the Tuohy family accusing them of swaying him, since they are from Mississippi. Michael goes back to his birth mother's apartment in a housing project, where he runs into trouble with the people of his old neighborhood. Leigh Anne looks for him to make sure he stays on the right path and chooses the right college.
