The Blood of Heroes is a 1989 Australian film set in a post-apocalyptic era where the sport of choice is a dangerous and brutal sport called "The Game". In The Game two teams of Juggers attempt to score against each other to gain enough attention to be noticed by The League, which is the ruling body of the sport, and live in luxury in their barren world. One of the roving teams is led by Sallow (Rutger Hauer) who is a former member of The League that was dismissed in dishonor after committing a crime against the Overlord. Sallow, encouraged by Young Gar (Vincent D'Onofrio) and Kidda (Joan Chen) decides to take on The League to expunge his past and take back his honor. Unfortunately, the price for honor and victory could be higher than they knew. The Game is played much meaner in The Nine Cities, home of The League, and the stakes of the game are life and death.moreless
