The Bodyguard is an comedic action parody about a gang of henchmen that seek to take down the bodyguard of the son of a wealthy businessman. Life is grand for the son of Thailand's richest man Chaichol (Piphat Apiraktanakorn), but when his father is murdered, his world starts to crumble. He fires the inept bodyguard Wong Kom, (Petchtai Wongkamlao) who was unable to save his dear dad, and sets out to find and take on the gang of assassins responsible. Wong Kom, in an effort to redeem himself, also goes after the gang, who as it turns out is less ruthless and more clueless. In a story laden with outrageous humor and over the top action, Chaichol finds himself falling for the beautiful Pok (Pumwaree Yodkamol) along the way to seeking revenge on his father's killers. Wongkamlao, along with Panna Rittikrai, directs this Thai comedy that features the notorious Tony Jaa a slew of inside jokes from notable Thai action movies. The Bodyguard is a fantastic blend of action and comedy, a spoof on itself.
