The Boys and Girl from County Clare is a comedic look at the misadventures of two rival brothers, Jimmy (Colm Meaney) and John Joe (Bernard Hill), who travel to compete in an Irish music festival. Set in the 1960's, Jimmy and John Joe each bring their respective bands though many adventures on their way to competing in the All-Ireland Traditional Music Competition in County Clare. Along the way, relationships are challenged, including the budding romance between two young musicians, Anne (Andrea Corr) and Teddy (Shaun Evans), who are caught in the middle of the competitive brothers. With the upbeat charm of Irish music and the wit of Irish tempers, the two brothers delight the viewers with their sabotaging ways. As heartwarming as it is funny, the movie endears its watchers to examine what it means to be family, friends, and rivals. Directed by John Irvine and written by Nicholas Adams, this movie is sure to entertain.
