The Boys & Girls Guide to Getting Down is an independent mockumentary about the Los Angeles hipster night life. The film follows several groups of young, attractive revelers, including punk rockers, nerds, hipsters, and debutantes, as they go to clubs, do drugs, and look for their next hook-up. During their exploits, narrator Paul Sapiano, who is also the film's writer and director, gives humorous, yet useful, instructions and etiquette tips for how to master the Hollywood party scene. Using tongue-in-cheek humor, he discusses things like how to get into exclusive clubs, how to scope out the best drugs, and how to kick your one night stand out of bed the next morning. Paul also talks about partying pitfalls to avoid, like girls who only like guys for their drugs and drinking too much alcohol. After premiering at the 2006 Los Angeles Film Festival, this hilarious parody received five distinguished awards, including one for best picture.
