The Bravados is a 1958 American Western directed by Henry King and starring Gregory Peck, Joan Collins, and Stephen Boyd. The film tells the story of Jim Douglass (Peck), who arrives in a small western town in time to see the men responsible for his wife's death being hanged in the town square. A crooked executioner, however, ensures that the men are not killed and flee the town. Douglass takes it upon himself to exact revenge and bring justice to the town. He hunts down the killers and murders them. Jim returns to town and tells them that the men have been brought to justice, but when he discovers that the men, while convicted murderers, were not actually behind his wife's death, he begins to question his own morality. Is he any better than the murderers themselves? Joe "Curly" DeRita (of Three Stooges fame) guest stars as the hangman.
