The Broken Hearts Club: A Romantic Comedy centers around a restaurant owned by Jack (John Mahoney) and the softball team he sponsors. The story follows a close group of gay friends in West Hollywood who lean on each other for support as they face tragedy, new beginnings, jealousy, fatherhood and personal successes all mixed with some humorous situations. The group includes Dennis (Timothy Olyphant), an ambitious young photographer and glue of the group, Benji (Zach Braff), the youngest member of the group with an affection for gym bodies, Howie (Matt McGrath), an over-analytical psychology student, Cole (Dean Cain), a handsome actor who has a bad habit of stealing boyfriends, Patrick (Ben Weber), the cynical one of the group and Taylor (Billy Porter) a drama queen who just came out of a long-term relationship. The group guides each other though hardships and tragedies within one another's lives with the with help from fatherly figure Jack.
