The Brother From Another Planet is a comedy that follows The Brother (Joe Morton), an extraterrestrial being that unexpectedly finds his way to Earth. After abandoning his space craft, he decides to explore the strange new world in which he has landed. The Brother's defining characteristic is that he is mute, and this makes for hilarious interactions with the citizens of Harlem. His touch also has the supernatural ability to fix machinery. Things are not all well, however, as this interloper must persevere against a group of alien bounty hunters who are intent on capturing him. With the aid of his newfound friends, video game enthusiast Fly (Daryl Edwards), and an alcoholic bar-goer Smokey (Leonard Jackson), it will take all the Brother can muster to elude these men. This independent film touches upon intolerance and is meant to offer an allusion to the clash of cultures that is prevalent in American society.
