2008
Rating:
PG-13
The Bucket List is a compelling comedic drama starring Academy Award winners Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson. Director Rob Reiner skillfully tells the story of blue-collar worker Carter (Freeman) and billionaire tycoon Edward (Nicholson), two very different men who find themselves rooming together on a cancer ward. The terminally ill men are both afraid of dying without settling their lives, and both have regrets about all they didn't accomplish in life. Carter creates his bucket list, all the things he'd like to do before he "kicks the bucket." When Edward sees it, he insists on funding the wish list, and the two set off on a round-the-world trip. From skydiving to flying over the North Pole, from riding a motorcycle along the Great Wall of China to driving a classic Mustang, Carter and Edward steadily check items off their list, growing closer all the time. It's the strength they gain from each other that propels them through the rest of their journey, coming to grips with the mistakes in their lives. A beautiful story of life, loss and love, The Bucket List is a modern classic.moreless
