The Bullfighters is a 1945 comedy and musical film that tells the story of Stan (Stan Laurel) and Ollie (Oliver Hardy) who are a team of private detectives. They fly to Mexico City on an attempt to arrest the notorious Hattie Blake, a.k.a. Larceny Nell (Carol Andrews). Their arrival to the city coincides with the much-awaited arrival of Don Sebastian (Stan Laurel), a Spanish bullfighter who is the exact double of Laurel. Sebastian's performance is delayed due to passport problems. For publicity reasons, Stan is persuaded by a public relations agent 'Hotshot' Coleman (Richard Lane) to take up the place of the matador in the bullring. Stan is reluctant to agree to his request until Coleman threatens to turn Stan and Oliver over to Richard Muldoon (Ralph Stanford), whom they had wrongfully sent to prison. Upon his release, Muldoon swore to skin them alive when he found them. Their involvement in the game leads to chaotic incidences when the real bullfighter, Sebastian, arrives in Mexico just in time for the bullfight.moreless
