PG-13
The Bumblebee Flies Anyway is a 1999 drama about Barney Snow (Elijah Wood), a teenager who wakes up in a mysterious hospital without any real clues to his identity. He can remember only vague pieces of the past, including his name and a shady recollection of a car crash. Barney decides that he must have lost his memory in the accident and been taken to this hospital for rehabilitation. He slowly befriends other patients, including Mazzo (Joseph Perrino). As the days slip past and Barney's memory remains unreachable, he comes to know Mazzo's sister, Cassie (Rachael Leigh Cook), who comes to visit with the patients. As his feelings for Cassie develop from friendship into something deeper, Barney is beginning to piece together strange clues about the other patients at the hospital. Unlike him, most of them seem to be fighting against terminal illnesses. Although he enjoys his time with the other patients, Barney knows that he needs to figure out his actual identity and rejoin the world, perhaps with Cassie at his side. As he puts the pieces of the puzzle together, however, Barney may have to face startling truths.moreless
