The Butterfly Tattoo, set in Oxford, is a 2009 intriguing drama directed by Phil Hawkins and based on Phillip Pullman's popular novel, The White Mercedes. Chris Marshall (Duncan Stuart) met the girl he thought he was going to kill on a warm night in early June, when one of the colleges in Oxford was holding its summer ball. But a chance meeting with Jenny (Jessica Blake) at a party leaves seventeen-year-old Chris with hope for a summer romance - and no feeling of trouble. Busy with his job and soon in love with Jenny, whose cheerful and happy surface hides the darkness of her past, Chris misses all the signs of danger. Before he knows it, he's caught in the harmful web of a criminal whose desire for revenge crushes those who stand in his way and leads to betrayal, revenge, and murder. Stars of The Butterfly Tattoo include Dan Morgan, Aidan Magrath, Christopher Dane, Michael Dacre and Abigail Tarttelin.
