The Cat and the Canary is a 1927 film in which wealthy old man Cyrus West has many people around him during his last days on Earth. However, they aren't there out of concern, his friends are there because they want to be in his final will and testament. However, as he's dying, he stipulated that his will cannot be read until 20 years after he dies. When that time comes, everyone comes to Mr. West's empty old mansion to find out what they get. It turns out that Annabelle West (Laura La Plante) is the only heir with his name left, but she only gets her share if she is deemed sane. If she is found insane, all the money and valuable items go to someone else. This single name is in a sealed envelope. Before Mr. Crosby (Tully Marshall), reveals who that person is, he disappears, and suddenly, a series events of events that could prove to Annabelle insane begins to unfold.moreless
