The Cat From Outer Space follows alien pilot Zunar-J-5/9 Doric-4-7 (Ronnie Schell) after he is forced to make an emergency landing of his spacecraft on Earth. The United States government impounds the craft and Zunar, or Jake as his human friends decide to call him, must find alien-friendly inhabitants to help him repair the flying saucer so that he can rendezvous with his mother ship. Using a special collar, Jake is able to communicate with the human and also perform some other-worldly acts. He finds Dr. Frank Wilson (Ken Berry) and convinces him to help find a substance Jake only knows as Org 12. Frank is able to determine Org 12 is gold and Jake uses his collar to help get the precious metal and repair his ship. Norman Tokar directs the 1978 Disney film that was nominated as the best science fiction film by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films.
