Bruce Hunt

2005
Rating:
PG-13
The Cave revolves around a recently discovered cave system underneath a stoic church in Romania. Dr. Nicolai (Marcel Iures) is the geologist in charge of exploring the caves. He hires a team of spelunkers led by two brothers, Jack (Cole Hauser) and Tyler McAllister (Eddie Cibrian). According to local legend, the Knights Templar ventured into the caves to fight flying beasts, and the church was built on top of the cave as a symbol of God's protection for the world. The team makes it deep into the caves, and the legend proves to be true, as they encounter some ferocious creatures. To make matters worse, the initial attack causes an explosion and traps the team in the cave. They must fight unknown creatures as they search for a new way out of the deep and winding caves. The Cave is a classic creature feature that contains some historical references and dramatic action.

Not only is the film dreadfully dull: every time something potentially exciting does occur, the scenes are so muddled and chaotic that it is impossible to make out what is happening.
