The Choirboys is a 1977 dramatic comedy directed by Robert Aldrich based on books by Joseph Waumbaugh. The film features several tired Los Angeles police officers who are overworked, underpaid and stressed out by the dangers in their city. The officers are on the brink of burning out. Knowing that they are in trouble the officers decide they desperately need to find a way to unwind and release some built up tension. The officers accomplish this task by taking part in acts of debauchery in MacArthur Park. MacArthur Park is a source of angst for the officers because much of the crime in their city erupts there. The men gather in the park drink way too much and pull over the top pranks on each other and unsuspecting passerbys. Some of the police officers featured in the film include up and coming actors like Tim McIntyre, Randy Quaid, James Wood, Charles Durning.
