Throughout her life, Christine (John Hansen), previously known as George (John Hansen), struggled with the feeling that she was a woman inside of a man's body. Growing up, George knew that his preferences for activities and friends were similar to girls, but he went on to join the military and work as a photographer. Finding a book about sex glands, George began to study as a medical assistant in order to discuss his concerns intelligently with his doctor. It was determined that George did have some issues with his sex glands. George was referred to a doctor in Denmark and together they embark on the task of surgically changing George to Christine.
