The Clairvoyant (1934) is the story of Maximus (Claude Rains) also called the King of the mind readers who with the help of his wife Rene (Fay Wray), performs a secret musical hall mind-act. But one night, he notices a beautiful woman Christine Shawn (Jane Baxter) and his act starts to turn into a reality, and he starts experiencing very frightening flashes of recognition which he cannot predict or control. At first this new-found gift makes him famous and well-to-do, but the presence of the lovely Christine makes his equally lovely wife Rene increasingly jealous. Things seem to be going sour. Will he be able to survive the steamy situation or will he crumble? The movie was based on a novel that has the happens to have the same name and was written by Ernst Lohar. Maurice Elvey directed the movie and the movie is produced by Gaumont British Picture Corporation.
