The Clown And The Kid shows audiences that even an escaped convict can have a heart. The dramatic film opens with Moko the clown (Don Keefer) driving his son, Shawn (Michael McGreevey), to a convent after learning that he only has a short time to live. Moko dies on the way, leaving an adolescent Shawn alone and desperate. The boy meets an escaped convict, Peter (John Lupton), who tells Shawn he too is clown and that he'll take care of him. Peter uses Moko's make-up to disguise himself as they drive through a police roadblock. Shawn lies to police telling them that Peter is his father. The two end up finding a traveling carnival owned by Robin (Mary Webster). They get a job there, and Peter falls in love with Robin. Peter thinks he's safe and decides to go straight, when soon the police arrive to arrest him. Shawn finds out that his only friend has lied to him the entire time, and he runs away into the path of an oncoming tornado. Peter has a chance to escape, but chooses to look for Shawn. He finds him unconscious and now must decide if he should take him back or keep running.moreless
