The Company is a six-part 2007 miniseries that follows three Ivy League graduates as they make their careers in the espionage world of the CIA, MI-5 and KGB. The series begins in 1950 at the height of the Cold War. Jack McCauliffe (Chris O'Donnell), Leo Kritzky (Alessandro Nivola) and Yevgeny Tsipin (Rory Cochrane) are recruited then begin 40 years of undercover service that will take them through real-life events such as the Hungarian revolution, the Bay of Pigs and the collapse of the USSR. Jack first works for Harvey Torriti (Alfred Molina), code name "The Sorcerer," the Berlin-based head of the CIA's Soviet division and eventually works with James Angleton (Michael Keaton), the chief of the counter-intelligence staff, as they search for a KGB mole within the CIA's ranks. Along the way, Jack's idealistic beliefs in loyalty, patriotism and ideology will be sorely tested by the real-world of double-crosses, executions and political gamesmanship.
