The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes is a 1969 Disney family film following a college student who gets an extra dose of genius thanks to a freak accident. Dexter Reilly (Kurt Russell) is an average student at Medfield College. When the students of the cash-strapped private school convince wealthy businessman A.J. Arno (Cesar Romero) to donate an old computer to the college, Dexter is tasked with getting it fixed up for use. While replacing a part during a thunderstorm, lightning strikes and the computer's knowledge is placed in his head, making him a human computer. He can recall the contents of an encyclopedia, solve complex mathematical equations and learn new languages in hours. Dean Higgins (Joe Flynn) recognizes the chance for Medfield to win a $100,000 prize in a quiz tournament. But the computer transferred more than academic knowledge to Dexter. He also has all the knowledge of Arno's illegal gambling activities and the gangster wants to make sure that information doesn't get into the hands of the police.moreless
