The Cowboys, starring the movie screen legend John Wayne, Roscoe Lee Browne and Bruce Dern is a western motion picture about a rancher named Wil Andersen (John Wayne) who is unexpectedly forced to find new cattle drivers for his herd of cattle. To escape the hardships of tending his ranch alone after his ranch hands abandon him to join the gold rush. Wil begins his search for new cattle drivers by taking in some young local school boys who volunteer for the cattle drive. Will teaches the boys the arduous tasks of a rancher by herding cattle. Soon after a gang of cattle thieves, led by "Long Hair" Asa Watts (Bruce Dern) show up asking for work. But after Wil realizes Long Hair is dishonest he refuses to hire Long Hair and his cattle thieves. And so, the long journey begins through the Montana countryside for Wil and the boys who are unaware of what challenges await them along their journey.moreless
