The Cradle is a thrillerdirected by Tim Brown that depicts a family being driven to the brink of insanity by spirits from the past. In the film, Frank (Lukas Haas), his wife, Julie (Emily Hampshire), and the small son, Sam (Ellisa Madeline Marks) move to a rural area to begin a new life together as a young family. Soon after their arrival, Julie and Sam are stricken with an illness that will not go away. Frank in the meantime is having reoccurring nightmares about his family being harmed. Soon, unexplained things begin happening in the home, and Frank and Julie become very frightened. As Frank's dreams intensify and Julie becomes sicker, Frank pleads with midwife Helen (Amanda Smith) to take care of Sam until they are better. With Sam now out of the house Frank can fight whatever demons possess the home. Frank believes that their house is being haunted by the spirit of a young child who used to live in the home, but was buried alive a few years ago and died. Frank continues to deal with the demons both in his home and in his dreams as this film takes an incredible turn and things quickly begin to spiral out of control.moreless
