The Crawling Eye, also known as Creature from Another World, is a 1958 science fiction horror classic based on the 1956 television program The Trollenberg Terror. The film follows several people surrounding a strange mountain in the small Swiss town of Trollenberg. A series of violent deaths has occurred following the appearance of a strange, freezing mist that floats over the south side of the mountain. Warren Mitchell plays Professor Crevett, who believes the deaths are not mere mountain climbing accidents, and the mist is not an odd turn of the weather. Rather, he believes, the mist houses an alien life form that can only survive in extreme colds. Janet Munro plays Anne Pilgrim, a strong-willed psychic who senses a terrible force occupying the mountain. Since she can't provide any tangible reasons, the local men pay no attention to her warning of grave danger in the freezing mountains. As more mangled bodies turn up in the village, accompanied by freezing cold temperatures, everyone wants to know who is attacking the town and what foreign realm they've come from. The Crawling Eye is a horror classic, directed by Quentin Lawrence and written by Jimmy Sangster.moreless
