The Crimson Cult is a chilling horror film about a man that gets involved in an age old mystery while investigating his brother's death. After his brother Peter's mysterious disappearance, Robert Manning (Mark Eden) travels to his last known whereabouts, the Craxton Lodge in Graymarsh. While very accommodating, owner J.D. Morley claims to not know of anyone named Peter, but allows Manning and investigate. However, as Manning continues to search for clues as to where his missing brother might be, he not only finds evidence of Peter's stay at the lodge but that he may have been killed. His stay becomes more haunting and bizarre as Manning experiences odd dreams about a which named Lavinia Morley (Barbara Steele), who was burned at the stake 300 years before. With the help of occult expert Prof. Marsh (Boris Karloff), Manning learns that Morley is a descendant of Lavinia, is hell bent on enacting revenge on those related to anyone responsible for her killers, and that he might be next. Vernon Sewell directs this classic horror film, also known as The Curse Of The Crimson Altar.moreless
