The Crying Game: Collector's Edition is a deluxe version of the acclaimed 1992 drama and includes an alternate ending and a short documentary on Ireland's "Northern troubles," among other special features. The film centers on Fergus (Stephen Rea), an IRA soldier who helps kidnap British soldier Jody (Forest Whitaker). The IRA threatens to kill Jody if the British do not release jailed IRA members within three days. Fergus is assigned to guard Jody and soon begins to form a bond with him. As the deadline approaches with no word from the British, Jody realizes he will be killed and makes Fergus promise to look after Jody's girlfriend Dil (Jaye Davidson). Tragedy strikes when Fergus reluctantly takes Jody to the woods on orders to execute him. Fergus keeps his promise to track down Dil as the film shifts from psychological thriller to romance, but Fergus' past with the IRA threatens to disrupt his new life.
