The Curse of Inferno is a 1997 comedy drama from writer-director John Warren. Chuck (Pauly Shore) and Harold (Max Perlich) dream of escaping their small dusty backwater Texas town of Inferno, fixing up an old broken-down plane that they own and becoming pilots in the Caribbean. In order to raise the $80,000 they need, the two decide to rob the town's small bank. During the heist, however, they discover that the bank is holding more money than it should and their robbery attempt is also interpreted by two other thieves. Chuck and Harold then hide the loot and flee the bank. While plotting their return to the bank in order to retrieve the cash, Chuck falls in love with Layla (Janine Turner), the town's new deputy police officer who also happens to be in charge of investigating the robbery. When it transpires that rich businessman Moles (Ned Beatty) and banker Lonnie (Stephen Tobolowsky) have been using the bank to launder money, Layla has to decide whether to turn in the real criminals, Moles and Lonnie, or prosecute small town crooks Harold and her new love interest Chuck.moreless
